Q: This insurance company thought of my idea to measure temperature also…
A: I know. checking temperature is one of the measures taken at the borders, airports, and so on but, I just don’t know how you’re going to make money on it because contactless thermometers are wildly available. I actually have one. What’s the business? Unless you just want to sell thermometers to the public, governments, etc. Plus it’s absolutely incorrect to say that this is somehow able detect the virus. It measures nothing, but body temperature!
Q: I think, if it were to be done it should be looked at as a “first line of defense“. Maybe just a way to measure someone vitals that could be an indicator but not a diagnosis to keep people out of a physicians office, if they have concerns based upon minor symptoms. It seems that’s what Aetna is doing and then giving them a care package later with disinfectants and advice how to contain it should they contracted. I don’t know, if there’s a business model around it. It was just an idea that, if we have one or two devices tied into our application we could provide feedback through the app.
A: I do not see how one can sell it as “defense”, if it produces only temperature measurement. Aetna and others publish “truisms” - approaches to infection control, which are known and practiced for centuries. But, I do not understand why we need to do it for this infection, while fully expecting employees come to work and children to attend school, if they have mild “cold”. If we start getting hysterical about every infection - the society will come to a halt. We will be running around with thermometers and masks, companies will have to switch to virtual world and factories will be peopleless - robots will have to take over. At the same time, while this hysteria is unfolding, there are parents who refu
se vaccinate their children, polio, malaria, and many other infections continue killing people. Got the point!?
Q: Got it. Yes sir. Thank you!
A: I hope, I do not sound paternalistic and condescending!
Reply: No i like straight forward! Thank you!
