May 9 2020

May 9th is cerebrated as the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 between the Soviet Union and Nazi’s Germany and its satellites. The German army capitulated close to the midnight on May 8th of 1945, when it was already May 9th in Moscow. The nations of Soviet Union, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, France, and resistance fighters across Europe and occupied territories of the Soviet Union, fought hand in hand to defeat ferocious and merciless enemy. The Soviet Union lost more than 27 million people.

Belarus, along with Sweden, are the only countries which refused to budge to “the virus”. The people of Belarus, under the leadership of the President - Mr. Lukashenko, known as Bat’ka - or “FATHER”, withstood the incredible international pressure to shut down economy and close its borders. Bat’ka reasoning was simple and common sense: “Russia has half a trillion dollars in reserves, oil and gas, the US owns the printing press, we do not, hence we cannot afford to shut down”. More importantly, Belarus has well-established (inherited from the Soviet Union) system of the sanitary-epidemiological control and the healthcare system with the network of proper infectious disease hospitals.

I am incredibly proud of my Motherland - Belarus, translated as “White Russia”, which was previously an integral part of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. The Belarus population is approximately 10 million. It lost 1 out of 3 of its citizens in the fight against Nazis…

Today, Belarus proceeded with the traditional military parade , concerts, and the nationwide festivities despite doomsday prophets warning about the dangers of epidemic. I have been crying while listening to the Bat’ka’s speech , watching the parade and concerts, seeing veterans, seniors, people of all ages and children smiling, dancing and kissing.

This was in contrast to the miserable Mr. Putin, the president of Russia, who looked like a sore looser standing in front of the sacred Unknown Soldier monument in Moscow, alone, with a platoon of honor guards in the rain - socially distancing from everybody!

Those who know Dr. Why, must remember that I was always one of the Mr. Putin’s biggest funs, but, suddenly and quite unexpectedly, he bent backwards-forwards to the tunnel vision and orders of other powers. He deflated just as fast as he rose to power in 1999. I must give him the credit for saving the nation and bringing the Great Russia back!

Meanwhile:

  • Belarus lost only 126 people out of 22,052 diagnosed, 13 deaths per million;

  • Russia lost 1,915 out of 209,688 diagnosed; 13 deaths per million;

Got the point?
